Each of us has our own story. Our unique personalities, perspectives, beliefs, families, friends, choices, schools, careers, hardships, victories and losses give our stories their unique shapes.
When I was a little girl, I loved to hear my parents and older relatives tell how things were in the olden days. Our stories--funny, sad, even what we think of as mundane, when passed on to the next generation help them know us and help us shape their future. They get to know us more as real people rather than a distant ancestor.
There seems to be little opportunity for this type of story any more because families are too busy and too scattered. Give your future generations the gift of your story.
